Chez

Chez is a contemporary private event space located at 247 E. Ontario Street, just two blocks east of Michigan Avenue in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood. Chez offers an elegant backdrop for wedding ceremonies and receptions, private parties, nonprofit happenings, bar and bat mitzvah celebrations, and corporate gatherings. Designed by architects Krueck + Sexton, the space features abundant natural light, an architectural glass staircase leading to a mezzanine floor and statuesque columns that activate the seventeen-foot-tall interior. Chez can host 300 guests for a reception, 160-200 guests for a seated dinner, of 120-150 guests for classroom or presentation-style seating.

Chez was named in homage to the glamorous Chez Paree nightclub, which operated in the same building that now features Chez. The Chez Paree was a Chicago institution during the golden age of entertainment. Legends including Jimmy Durante, Sophie Tucker, Sammy Davis, Jr., Nat King Cole, Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, and Liberace performed at the Chez Paree.

Chez has proudly supported the following local non-profit agencies by providing its event space for fundraising and/or networking events at cost or significant discount:  United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Midwest Chapter; Equality Illinois Education Project; TwistOut Cancer; Streeterville Chamber of Commerce; iLLMuslims; Jewish Federation of Chicago, Real Estate Division; Chicago International Film Festival.
